The Story of La Bise bakery
La Bise Bakery is founded on the devotion and commitment to connecting with people of its founder, Nicole Scriabin.
Starting La Bise Bakery in her own humble kitchen, Nicole has grown La Bise into a must-taste destination for tourists and locals alike in the world-famous Granville Island Public Market.
We treasure our faithful customers that bring us into their homes and keep coming back to us for the best part of their day.

Founder, Nicole Scriabin
Born in Vancouver, Nicole lived in Europe for over 25 years, working at Food Network UK as Creative Manager across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to develop programming with chefs and bakers including The Great British Bake-Off contestants, Jun Tanaka, Lotte Duncan and John Whaite.
Eventually, Nicole moved back home to Canada to look after her mother. Missing the accessibility of sweet indulgences provided by her European adventures, she started baking to recreate those memories.
Not soon after she started, all who tasted her treats were instantly transported to the south of France and couldn’t help but crave their next canelé. Since then, people have lined up at the chance to make La Bise canelés and pastries part of their daily routines, special celebrations, and other occasions.
